Rebecca 's Story
After high school, I moved to Salem, OR and worked for the State of Oregon for about 2 yrs, got married and moved to Lincoln City, Oregon.
I have 2 children; Julie (born in 1978) and Jeremy (born in 1982). I divorced in 1985 and married again in 1987 to my husband, Curtis of 24 years! We live in Salem, Oregon, own our home and enjoy our jobs.
My current job is with WVP Health Authority working in Medical Management as a Referral Coordinator. I have been at this position for 11 years. Jobs I have held prior to this have been in retail sales, Pharmacy Technician and a Referral Specialist with a doctor's clinic.
My daughter is living in Salem and has 1 daughter (my only grandchild). My son was in the National Guard for several years; served in Afghanistan for about a year and is also living in Salem.
I have 3 siamese cats, all indoor and very entertaining! There names are Adonis, Cairo & Sophie. I also adopted a neighborhood cat that I learned someone left behind when they moved, and I named her Bella (she's all black). She likes staying outside, so I just make sure she has food & water. I gave up my PartyLite business. I think economics played mos...Expand for more
tly into that decision as well as time or lack of. I had fun for the 11 years that I put into it.
My dream vacation is to go to Ireland. I became fascinated with their music many years ago and decided I wanted to know more about their culture. Still haven't made it to Ireland yet, but my brother wanted to go on an Alaskan cruise so Curtis & I joined him which we took in June 2011. It was amazing and we had a wonderful time. We both agreed that we would love to do it again.
I was unfortunate and was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 1997. Over a period of time trying diet, various medications and insulin; I was still having difficulty so my dr sent me to a specilist who ran tests and found that I was not a type 2 but instead a type 1. She made some changes with my insulin but then later decided that I would benefit better by being on insulin pump therapy. Especially after experiencing a low blood sugar after getting off work one evening and totaling my car which led to getting my license suspended. That happened late Sept. 2011 and after my last appt, my dr said she would allow me to drive again. I still need to wait for DMV to make their determination.
